August? What happened to Sept and Oct???

Who over-wound the clock? Is it just me, or does it seem as if time is speeding up? The family gathered at my brother Jeff's home in Riverside to celebrate Barbara's birthday. Her dog Chloe got a new outfit - which will come in handy for Halloween! Doesn't Jeff have a nice view from his patio? We had lots of fun taking photos and laughing together. The group shot is (from Left to right) Barbara, Joe, Lisa, Jeff, Tabitha, Bill, and Jill. In front is Kaleb, and seated are Chris and Wendy.

August flew by!

August was a busy month! Our great-nephew, Trenton Wickham, turned 5. He had a swim party at his Uncle Bill and Aunt Leslie Kearney's home. It was a splash! Fun, fun, fun.

Our Grandson, Stewart, also celebrated his birthday. We enjoyed dinner and cake with him at the Lyell home. Doesn't he look happy:

STEWART IS THREE YEARS OLD NOW!

WELCOME BABY MIKAELA:

On August 13 we welcomed our third grandchild to the family - Mikaela Shea Stevens was born at Downey Community Hospital and her Daddy got to deliver her! Dr. Bender was standing by in case he was needed. Mommy did a great job too and says epidurals are wonderful. The picture at the far right above was taken 2 days before Mikaela was born.

Stewart came on his first camping trip (alone) with Grandma and Grandpa in the motorhome. We went to Canyon RV in Anaheim Hills with other RV'g friends. Stewart and Grandpa watched Pirates of the Carribean on the tv at least 4 times over the weekend. Stewie loves to say "aaarrgh!" and chose the same movie every time he was given the choice!

Grandpa also worked over at Matthew and Jenny's house a lot getting the backyard ready for new sod.

CHRISTMAS and OUR FAMILY

Our family loves photographs. (I hear some groans!) I have lots of pictures taken through the years with my siblings and cousins, my husband and children, friends and... well, there are a LOT of photos. The one shown here was taken at Matthew and Jenny's home during Christmas season 2006.

WHY A BLOG?

Good question. And my response might be why not? But the truth is, we are living in a digital age, lots of others are doing it and it seems a good way to share the love of our family, our good times shared, the memories and remembering.... It is another way to keep in touch with those we love - near and far,- brag a little (ok, a lot), and well, why not???
